ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Stacey Printz (Choreographer/Dancer/Educator): Artistic Director of Printz Dance Project (PDP) with her company has performed in San Francisco for 23+ yrs, and toured across the nation and internationally in Russia, Lithuania, Ireland, The Virgin Islands and Mexico. Printz was nominated for an Isadora Duncan Dance Award (Izzie) for her 2011 work Hover Space, and her work GLASSlands was presented by Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, on their mainstage in May 2018. In 2020 while in residency at The Kennedy Center, PDP embarked on “Ink and Bone” which premiered Fall 2021. Printz’s choreography credits in theater/multi-genre, performing arts pieces include: As You Like It at Cal Shakes, Aaron Davidman’s Wrestling Jerusalem, Sarah Shourd’s The Box, Washington D.C.’s Woolly Mammoth Theater production of The Arsonists, and YBCA Director Marc Bamuthi Joseph’s internationally recognized works, Scourge, The Break/s, the Bessie nominated Red, Black & Green: a blues, and /peh-LO-tah/, which recently toured to Kennedy Center and BAM. In addition she has choreographed many regional musical theater productions, including the premiere of The Red Shades, a trans-super-hero rock opera, In The Heights and Ragtime at Throckmorton Theater, and in the past, West Side Story, A Chorus Line, Grease and more. She choreographed The past two “Panto in the Presidio” shows, The Magic Lamp, and Sleeping Beautyand will choreograph this year’s Panto, opening December 2024. Printz has taught her hybrid contemporary-jazz technique across the United States, including places such as New York (Broadway Dance, NYU, Peridance), Los Angeles, Memphis, Arizona, Colorado, Utah and Internationally (including Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Austria, Ireland, Russia, Curacao and more). In the Bay Area, Printz taught for many years at A.C.T.’s MFA program, currently teaches at Alonzo King’s LINES Dance Center where she has been on faculty for 19 years, in addition to workshops at RoCo Dance MV, ODC, Shawl Anderson Dance Center.
